Non-Profity Organisation - To Franchise Or Not To Franchise

About the Client

The client is a non-profit organisation that provides critical services to thousands of people with a disability and their families. As well as conducting research, they operate from over 100 sites throughout metropolitan, regional and rural NSW and the ACT, with therapy teams who work with individuals and families to maximise their participation in the community.

Mission

FC Business Solutions (FC) were engaged to provide a framework to model and test a proposed franchise financial model, to assess whether the model was likely to be commercially sustainable, and provide adequate financial returns while delivering quality support services to the target market.

Process

FC conducted in depth research and analysis of information from a range of sources including NDIS data; demographic and population statistics; financial and operational information from existing client sites; and existing health services franchise system benchmarks.

A report was developed that presented the results of the findings, along with three future business models for expansion of the network including potential income vs expense modelling; anticipated investment; and other relevant information for the client to make an informed decision on future growth.

FC also conducted research and provided brief reviews and recommendations for two alternative expansion options.

Result

As a result of FCs report, the client had all the critical information they needed, in order to make an informed decision on the most effective business path for the organisation.
